Posters
Posters will be mounted on posterboards to be provided at the conference
site. The posterboards are made of a foam-like material and stand on tables.
The posterboard has three panels. The center panel is 27 inches wide and the
two side panels are each 13 inches wide. The height is 40 inches.
Presenters should bring pushpins, tape or staples to attach their material.
Note that there may be problems bringing pushpins through airport security.
A sign will be posted at the conference registration desk indicating where
and during what times poster presenters can obtain their posterboards. Each
presenter will be given one, and will be asked to sign for it.
Poster presenters should mount their posters at least one hour prior to the
start of the session, and remove them immediately after the formal close of
the session as listed in the conference program. We will not re-use the
posterboards; presenters can keep or dispose of them. We will have
information on how they can be disposed of at the conference.
Audio-visual equipment
Each meeting room will be equipped with a standard overhead projector, an
LCD projector for showing power point slides, and a screen. We are very
grateful to several members who are lending us their LCD projectors (costs
to rent this equipment turned out to be prohibitively high).
Guidelines for power point presenters:
Bring your own laptops, either PC or Mac, as we are unable to provide
laptops (again, because of the expense). Non-US current users should bring
whatever adapter is needed to plug into US current sources. It is strongly
recommended that presenters bring a back-up set of standard overhead
transparencies. Please go to the meeting room in time to connect your laptop
to the projector to check that your presentation works. You could use break
time for this purpose.
All presenters, whether using standard or power point displays, will need to keep on schedule - as a courtesy to the other presenters in the session as well as the audience, any start-up problems would cut into the time allocated to the presentation.
We are looking forward to a stimulating, productive and enjoyable conference that combines the intellectual power of two major research organizations. If you have any questions about conference logistics, please do not hesitate to let me know.
