SSSR Professional Development Seminar
As a response to members’ interests, SSSR is holding its second professional development workshop for early career reading researchers. This seminar will be held on July 7th in Berlin, Germany, the day prior to the annual general meeting.
In response to interests expressed last year, this year’s session will feature a targeted morning session on the establishment of collaborations and an afternoon session on specific statistical skills. We are fortunate to have Dr. David Francis lead the statistics tutorial on SEM and/or Growth Modeling (as determined by the survey at registration).
Registration.
We will accept all registrations from early career reading researchers who register prior to May 30th. Early career reading researchers are considered to be undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and early career faculty (first two years). If you do not fall into this category, and would like to attend, please contact the co-ordinator (Hélène Deacon; sdeacon@dal.ca). Please feel free to contact the co-ordinator for other information as well. Registration will take place online through https://surveys.dal.ca/opinio/s?s=8114 . You will need to complete the entire survey and registration to be considered registered.
Registration is sponsored by SSSR, and so it will be free for all SSSR members. Registration includes morning and afternoon coffee. Lunch will be available for purchase (5 to 10 Euros). The session will be held at the conference centre (Seminaris CampusHotel Berlin). The sessions will begin at roughly 9 am and continue until roughly 4 pm. Specific details on the pre-conference program will be emailed to registrants in mid June.
