The 2015 SSSR meeting will be held at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel on the island of Hawaii (the Big Island), a 20 minute drive north of the Kona International Airport (KOA).
Getting from the airport to the HBP: SSSR has contracted with Roberts Hawaii to provide shuttle service from KOA to the HBP. This is bookable online in advance: http://www.robertshawaii.com/sssr2015/ using the promo code SSSR2015 at checkout. Rental cars are also available at the airport.
The west coast of Hawaii is beautiful but relatively isolated. The Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel is steps away from a beautiful, natural white sand beach, a rarity on this side of the island where lava is the more typical shoreline. The HBP has a sister hotel approximately a mile away, the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. Both hotels have spas, pools and golf courses, and guests at either hotel have signing privileges and use of all facilities at the other. The hotel has a dining shuttle that takes guests from one hotel to the other at the dinner hour. There is also a shuttle that takes guests to the shops and restaurants at Waikoloa. A private vehicle will be necessary if you wish to access shopping or restaurants beyond those at the hotels or served by the shuttle.

Room rates at the HBP are $179 for terrace/partial ocean view and $205 for ocean view. There are a limited number of mountain view rooms available at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, the HBP’s sister hotel, at a rate of $259. On all rooms, a tax of 13.416% (comprising state sales and hotel tax) and a one-time porterage charge of $9.37 will be applied.

No extra person charge for 3rd or 4th adult in the room when using existing bedding ($40 fee for rollaway bed)
Conference rate available 3 days pre/post (on availability) – this rate can also be applied at the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki (on availability).
For the conference dinner, we will be selling tickets to the Mauna Kea luau at a reduced rate. You will be able to purchase luau tickets when you register for the conference.
