Dr. Cammie McBride is currently the Past-President of SSSR. She is a professor of developmental psychology in the Psychology Department and Associate Dean of research for the Faculty of Social Sciences, at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She specializes in reading development and impairment across cultures. McBride has served as Associate Editor for three journals, including APA's Developmental Psychology for seven years, and also for one encyclopedia (International Journal for the Social and Behavioral Sciences, 2nd edition--forthcoming). She has been on the editorial boards of several additional journals. A Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, she has written one book (Children's Literacy Development--currently under revision) and edited one (Reading Development in Chinese Children, with H.-C. Chen). Another edited volume on early literacy (with Natalia Kurcikova, Vibeke Grover, and Catherine Snow) is forthcoming.
