Emily Solari, Ph.D. is the Edmund H. Henderson Professor of Education at the University of Virginia's School of Education and Human Development. Her program of research encompasses early reading development, assessment, and intervention, with a particular emphasis on populations at risk for reading difficulties, including individuals with dyslexia, autism spectrum disorder, and English language learners. Her scholarship has been funded by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the National Science Foundation (NSF). She serves as Principal Investigator on multiple IES-funded grants, currently serves as one of four Principal Investigators on an NIH-funded Learning Disabilities Research Center, and leads a postdoctoral training grant funded by the Office of Special Education Programs, underscoring her sustained investment in the advancement of the field and the preparation of emerging scholars. As founder and director of Virginia Literacy Partnerships, an initiative fostering researcher-practitioner partnerships, Dr. Solari has contributed to the translation of research into consequential statewide implementation of evidence-based literacy assessment and instruction and intervention practices. Dr. Solari brings to her editorial responsibilities a deep command of research methodology, a comprehensive understanding of the reading sciences, and an unwavering commitment to the dissemination of rigorous, evidence-based scholarship.
