Please read the following instructions carefully to ensure you select the correct registration category and fees before proceeding to register for the conference.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds of the registration fee, less a $25 administrative fee, will be granted for written requests submitted by email to scientificstudy.reading@gmail.com no later than June 5, 2026. No refunds will be issued after this date. Registrants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements. The Society for the Scientific Study of Reading (SSSR) is not responsible for any non‑transferable or non‑refundable accommodation, airfare, or other travel costs incurred in connection with attendance at the conference.

Attendance Guidelines

Acceptance of a proposal represents a commitment by the presenting author to attend the conference in person. There is no option to present virtually. Presenting authors are expected to attend the full main conference, Thursday, July 16 through Saturday, July 18, 2026. Requests requiring scheduling consideration (including health, religious, or caregiving needs), authorship changes, or withdrawals must be submitted by May 8, 2026 to scientificstudy.reading@gmail.com. Requests received after this date cannot be guaranteed accommodation. The program may schedule sessions at any time during the conference. Presenters should plan to be available through Saturday evening.
