The 33rd Annual Conference of the Society for the Scientific Study of Reading will be held at the Postillion Hotel & Convention Centre WTC Rotterdam from Wednesday, July 15 to Saturday, July 18, 2026.
Conference and preconference registration are now closed. The conference dinner has a separate registration page.

AM Session: Demystifying the Peer-Review and Publication Process
The AM session focuses on supporting emerging scholars through multiple aspects of the peer-review academic journal submission process. Techniques will be provided to support attendees in moving research topics from conception to acceptance, including tips for finding a journal home, preparing submissions, and engaging with editors.
Lunch (12:30–1:30 p.m.) is provided for AM session attendees, with additional opportunities for networking and community building.

PM Session: Demystifying the Grant Writing Process
This session focuses on action steps to move grant ideas from seed to funding. Drawing on the diverse expertise of SSSR members, attendees will learn the ins and outs of grant writing — from university seed-grants to large government or foundation grants.
Attendees will leave with tools for finding and obtaining funding related to their research agenda.
